College launches cooperative venture with Agency for International Development to assist Escuela de Administracion y Finanzas in Medellin, Colombia

Throughout the sixties, the College pursued in its global mission energetically, stimulated by new and ambitious national priorities. Economic development in the Third World one of these priorities, as it has been in earlier years; soon the focus would shift to Latin America. In 1961 the International Management Development Department (IMDD) was formed to coordinate an array of programs throughout the University and to serve as the University’s liaison with the recently established U.S. Agency for International Development (AID).
In 1962 the College agreed to a six-year contract with AID to provide technical assistance to the Escuela de Administracion y Finanzas in Medellin, Colombia, the only collegiate business school in the country.
