Syracuse University’s Whitman School Celebrates IMPRESS Goodman Cup Competition

Throughout the year, the four Goodman IMPRESS program houses — Adams, Waverly, Harrison and Marshal — of Syracuse University’s Martin J. Whitman School of Management compete in the annual Goodman Cup Competition, all while gaining a professional competitive edge. This year the Whitman School awarded Waverly House the coveted Goodman Cup.

The Whitman School’s Goodman IMPRESS program encourages students to gain necessary professional skills, such as leadership and resilience, by using competition and “gamification.” Students earn points by taking part in career-building activities outside of the classroom and track their progress using a phone app. Each point a student earns goes toward an individual IMPRESS score and toward a house total score. The house with the greatest points is awarded the Goodman Cup.

To celebrate the end of the Goodman Cup Competition, the Whitman School hosted a dinner honoring students of Waverly House. The students with the highest IMPRESS scores will be honored at a brunch on May 3 at Whitman.
