SIFE Advances to National Competition

The Syracuse SIFE team
The Syracuse University SIFE team celebrates!

Students in Free Enterprise (SIFE) is a Whitman student club that works on local, national, and global community service projects with a business focus. Our club works on 10 different projects, ranging from teaching Guatemalan weavers how to run thread stores, to reworking the supply chain and retail practices of the Rescue Mission, a local non-profit organization which collects and resells gently used goods. The profits from these sales maintain the food service centers and shelters for the homeless of Syracuse.

The presentation team for SIFE prepares a presentation on our projects, and goes to the regional competition each year to put our projects up against other SIFE teams from around the area. If you win the regional competition, you move on to the national stage, where you compete for the chance to move onto the Worlds competition. This year, our SIFE team has made it through to nationals, in Kansas City, Missouri where we will be again showcasing four of our projects which we believe best demonstrate our commitment to economic, environmental, and social sustainability.
