Over the weekend of March 30-April 1 I had the amazing opportunity to compete in the Duke MBA games. The Duke MBA games is an event for MBA programs to network, compete in events (such as crabwalk, brief case toss, and tug of war), and raise money for the Special Olympics. The Syracuse team raised over $8,000, and the combined fundraising for all of the teams exceeded $45,000. With our great fundraising and success in many of the events (particularly tug of war where we were dominant), the Syracuse team came out as the 2012 Duke MBA Games champions! The weekend was very enlightening for me. I was able to learn about other MBA programs and meet other MBA students from schools such as Purdue, Penn State, Rice, and of course Duke, and I had a great time learning from all of the Special Olympians who participated in the games with us and who had a refreshingly positive outlook on life. This was one of the best experiences I have ever had, and I look forward to going back again next year.
