Why an MBA?
I wanted to get a holistic view on business culture and fuel my long-term goal of establishing a business by myself. Pursuing an MBA from a top-tier business school was a conspicuous choice.
Why Whitman?
Whitman is quite famous for its marketing program. I perceived that its diversified culture would help me in learning different perspectives from people who come from different walks of life.
What have you gained from your time at Whitman?
I have learned countless things from my time at Whitman. Academically, I learned about topics ranging from marketing nuances and data science concepts that well-known brands follow to how to succeed in the marketplace. Apart from the education side, I would say that being resilient, prioritizing tasks based on importance and viewing things from a different perspective are the three most important things I gained from my time at Whitman.
What is your most memorable moment from your time at Whitman?
I worked as a teaching assistant for the undergraduate business analytics class. I loved sharing my knowledge with students and discovered that I can be a good teacher. That is one of my most memorable moments from my journey so far.
Internship?
During the summer, I worked at Chico’s FAS in Florida as a customer relationship management (CRM) intern. I deployed data mining algorithms for forecasting and found solutions to business problems. I also built predictive models for selecting customers who would be more likely to respond to the company’s marketing campaigns.
Are your goals or plans different since starting your MBA?
Yes, they have slightly changed. Before beginning my MBA program, my short-term goal was to get a job in the marketing sector. After I started my education at Whitman, I became attracted to the field of data science.
What is your dream job?
I would like to work as a data science consultant for a reputed retail brand or a marketing agency.
