During the Whitman International Week 2019, students gathered to learn more about international sports and cultures. Members of Martin J. Whitman School of Management at Syracuse University’s graduate student organization organized a week of events.
This year’s events included cricket, table tennis and volleyball competitions. The week concluded with a cultural expo, filled with international food dishes, music and global informational tables.
“Students have been working hard since the start of the school year to put these events together,” says Peter Koveos, professor of finance and Kiebach Chair in International Business. “International Week gives the students the opportunity to teach us about their culture and provides another illustration of Whitman’s global reach. The value of the Week to our community is illustrated by the fact that we have been doing it since 1994!”
Whitman’s international alumni also shared their experiences with students in short testimonials. Read more about their experiences as international students, as well as how Whitman welcomed and prepared them for the future.
Whitman’s International Week is a yearly tradition put together by the Whitman Graduate Student Organization and Olivia and Walter Kiebach Center for International Business Studies. The Whitman community gathers for a series of different events over a week to embrace and celebrate the diversity represented among the students at Whitman.
