Program Overview
The Whitman School marketing management program is designed for students to encounter all the challenges in the industry: how a company decides what to sell, who to target and the best means of reaching them.
Students enrolled in the marketing management program can choose from more than nine electives and must take three elective business courses. The marketing management major can also be successfully paired with almost every major at the Whitman school. The retail management and supply chain management majors are commonly combined with marketing management.
Marketing management majors also gain real world experience through internships at major companies across the globe, various sales and business case competitions, shadowing seasoned marketing professionals, interaction with accomplished presenters and panelists.
Clubs, Centers and Connections
Whitman’s many clubs, such as the American Marketing Association Student Chapter, expand your base of knowledge and introduce you to additional resources through programming and events.
Marketing management majors are encouraged to participate in the Goldberg Marketing Career Exploration Trip to prominent New York City firms in a variety of industries to learn how companies use marketing in different ways.
Duals
At Whitman, a number of marketing undergraduates pursue a dual degree with Syracuse University’s S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications and the School of Information Studies. This helps prepare students for successful careers in corporate communications, digital marketing and digital media strategy.
Career Information
In 2015, the average base salary for Whitman marketing management graduates was $47,256.
