Brian A. Hammer M.S., MBA is the vice president of membership and business services for the National Association of ACOs in Washington DC, a healthcare lobbying group dedicated to achieving the “Triple Aim” of improving quality, reducing cost and enhancing patient experience. As a part of the executive team, Hammer leads all activities developing relationships with new and existing ACOs contracting with CMS as well as commercial ACOs in the private sector. He also oversees the procurement of strategic business partnerships and facilitates vendor contracting benefiting ACOs. Prior to NAACOS, Hammer amassed considerable experience in health care both in the hospital administration arena and in the out-patient ambulatory environment. His work in health system business development and physician relations proved beneficial as he strategized primary care physician alignment initiatives through his acquisition and recruitment acumen. Prior, Hammer was successful in the pharmaceutical space winning multiple national awards with companies such as Johnson & Johnson and Takeda Pharmaceuticals North America. He received an MBA with a marketing management concentration from the Whitman School of Management at Syracuse University, M.S. in health administration from St. Joseph’s University, and B.S. in business administration from Drexel University. He is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives and his community volunteer interests focus on Autism awareness and advocacy. In his free time, Hammer mentors health care MBA students and is an avid BBQ smoking enthusiast.
