Dear Whitman Alumni and Friends,
I hope this finds you and your loved ones healthy and enjoying some rest, relaxation and adventure this summer!
For those of you in the Syracuse University Class of 2021 who are receiving this newsletter for the first time as an alum, I would like to extend a heartfelt welcome on behalf of the tens of thousands of fellow Orange in your Whitman alumni family! It is an extraordinary group of which you are now a member.
It has felt like a decade since we had the pleasure of alumni visitors walking the halls of Whitman, but on the other side of the pandemic coin, it has been wonderful to connect with so many of you via screen during virtual events like Whitman Day Town Halls, faculty webinars, student-alumni engagement opportunities and more. Though we will continue to offer virtual programming—as it is clearly here to stay—we are so happy to welcome you back to campus in person this fall.
Whether you will be returning for the Coming Back Together reunion weekend September 9-12 (and our networking luncheon and real talk panel), Class of 2020 Commencement and Reunion Weekend September 17-19, Family Weekend October 8-10 or Orange Central homecoming weekend October 28-31 (and our Syracuse Sampling event), we look forward to seeing you! Or if you’re planning a trip back at another time for a football game or perhaps a tour of campus with your son, daughter, niece or nephew who is interested in continuing your family’s Orange alumni legacy, we hope you’ll stop by 721 University Avenue for a visit!
We are optimistic that we’ll be able to hit the road soon to bring the Orange spirit to our Whitman alumni, corporate partners and friends. Please be sure to keep your email and mailing address current at alumniupdate.syr.edu so that we can reach you with an invitation if we’ll be in your area. And remember, cusecommunity.syr.edu is a great resource for alumni to explore events, clubs, career resources, etc.
We continue to be amazed by the dedication of our alumni to our school, students and one another in typical times, but especially in times of challenge. Thank you for supporting our students and recent graduates by sharing your professional perspectives, advocating for them for positions in your firm, making monetary gifts to help overcome financial obstacles and create opportunities, and all the other ways you engage and give back. This pandemic may be stubborn, but the Orange alumni bond is strong. We are so grateful for your continued commitment!
Warm Regards,
Alison Kessler, Director of Alumni Engagement (315-440-4622, ahkessle@syr.edu)
