We are excited for the return of the Orange Tank business pitch competition during Orange Central 2016. On Friday, September 16, we’ll welcome entrants in two categories—alumni and student startups—with accomplished alumni judging each competition. Thanks to a major gift by Mark ’83 and Judi ’84 (VPA) Morris, the monetary awards for the winners this year will be increased. Both the student and alumni pitches will be awarded $5,000 for first place, $3,000 for second place and $1,000 for third place. The event will begin at 2 p.m. in Whitman’s Flaum Grand Hall with a networking reception following the competition. Business entries will be accepted online at www.whitman.syr.edu/orangetank through August 26. Nominate your business today. You may be one of five Whitman alumni selected to vie for part of the $9,000 alumni competition prize money. If you would like to attend the event as a guest, be sure to register via Orange Central 2016 to receive a complimentary homecoming T-shirt!
