Application Deadline Coming Soon for Orange Tank 2022!

Orange Tank 2022 will be held Friday, Sept. 30, 2022, at 2 p.m. in the Helaine and Marvin Lender Auditorium in the Whitman School. The application deadline is Sunday, Sept. 11, 2022, at 11:59 p.m. No exceptions.

All applicants must submit an executive summary using the form linked below to Todd Moss, Department of Entrepreneurship & Emerging Enterprises chair and associate professor of entrepreneurship, at tmoss@syr.edu. The form can be up to three pages of content to clearly identify your project.

To be eligible, all ventures must have a Whitman alumni or student founder or co-founder. Finalists will be notified by Friday, Sept. 16, and will deliver a 5-minute pitch to a panel of alumni judges followed by Q&A during the competition on Sept. 30.

The prize money for Orange Tank 2022 will total $42,000. Thanks to the generosity of Whitman Advisory Council member and lifetime Syracuse University Trustee John Couri ’63 (A&S), the grand prize award for the overall winning venture will be $25,000.

Three ventures will be selected to pitch in both the Alumni and Student categories. The following cash prizes will be awarded in each category:

First – $5,000

Second – $2,500

Third – $1,000

The overall winner between the two first-place ventures in each category will receive the $25,000 grand prize, so contestants will be competing for as much as $30,000.
