Annual Awards Ceremony & Reception and Orange Tank Business Pitch

Orange Central Homecoming 2016 is set for September 15-18 with a gridiron matchup between the Orange and the Bulls of South Florida. Whitman is pleased to announce two events as part of this year’s Orange Central festivities:

WhitmanAnnualAwardCeremony_LogoOn Thursday, September 15, we will hold our annual Awards Ceremony and Reception to honor several distinguished alumni, including the recipient of the Jonathan J. Hotlz Alumnus of the Year Award, as well as deserving faculty, staff and students. The awards ceremony will start at 4:00 p.m. in Whitman’s Flaum Grand Hall and a reception will immediately follow.

About Orange Tank 2016We are excited for the return of the Orange Tank business pitch competition to be held Friday, September 16. Like last year, we’ll welcome entrants in two categories—alumni and student start-ups—with accomplished alumni judging each competition. This year, the monetary prizes for winner will be increased thanks to a generous gift from Mark ’83 and Judi ’84 (VPA) Morris and Andrew Greenberg ‘85 (VPA). Both the student and alumni pitches will be awarded $5,000 for first place, $3,000 for second place and $1,000 for third place. The event will begin at 2:00 p.m. in the Flaum Grand Hall with a networking reception following the pitch competition.

Be sure to reserve your spot for Whitman’s Orange Central 2016 events and any of the events on campus you’d like to attend by September 12. Every online registrant will receive a complimentary homecoming T-shirt. If you have any problems registering, please contact Cindie Adams at csadams@syr.edu. She’ll be happy to assist you.
