One of the unique elements to the Whitman MBA curriculum is the Experiential Learning component, which I would like to take a minute to highlight. For those unfamiliar, it’s an opportunity to marry the teachings of the classroom with applicable “real world” experience. I have been lucky to have had FIVE different opportunities to meld these teachings while at Whitman—in my first year, our Marketing class consulted with Sierra Nevada Brewing Company and in the summer between my first and second years of the program I interned with Pfizer Pharmaceuticals. Currently in my second year of study I have been fortunate to have the opportunity to support a Lean Six Sigma project at a local long term healthcare facility and was involved with market research for Onondaga Public Libraries in addition to my full year internship at Crouse Hospital as a Business Strategist. Amazing, right? It absolutely helps in conversing with hiring managers about the complexities of certain projects and delivery of results. If you have specific questions about my experience, please feel free to email me at firstname.lastname@example.org!
