Over the last 12 months while attending interviews, career fairs, and company presentations I continued to run into the same people over and over. Through these friendships that I built, we came to the consensus that since we would see each other throughout the remainder of our careers in Corporate America we should actively work towards strengthening ties between ourselves and our MBA programs. Hence, the Syracuse/Cornell mixer was born. After much discussion we also brought in the SUNY-Upstate Medical College, Syracuse Law School and Newhouse. It was a great time to meet new people and catch up with old friends.
As we talked throughout the night we also watched the Final Four National Semi-Finals (sadly, Syracuse was not playing). When the event was over we proceeded to continue the festivities by hitting a few bars downtown. The phrase that we got throughout the night was “How come we never did this before?”. With the success of this event we hope to make this a semi-annual thing between our two schools.
